Hey Gary Miller gotta question,
I just watched the tut where you reduced the poly count on the wheel of the train cart.
My question is, after you welded the parts back together to make the parts one object again did that not create some ngons?
The merging, attaching, or combining together of objects to create a single mesh has been an on going question for me. Is it ok or does it create bad geometry?
I did watch a max tut where the instructor attached several objects together to create a single object.
I myself don't see any problem with it, unless more smoothing is needed. In Hexagon if you map before you weld the objects together your uvs go bye bye.
Thanks for all the time you put into these tuts.

I never welded the parts back together. The face and cylindrical wheel surface were disconnected.
